Retrospection on the event CH Open meets Open Source Business Alliance (OSB Alliance)

On wednesday, the 13th of January 2022, Michael Eichenberger, CEO of stepping stone Ltd, held the speech Open Source Cloud Services made in Switzerland at the event CH Open meets OSB Alliance.

The event «Members & Products» of the Open Source Business Alliance (OSB Alliance), the German federal association for digital sovereignty, was held this year on the 13th of January 2022 together with the Association for the promotion of open source software and open standards in Switzerland (CH Open), the association for the promotion of open source software and open standards in Switzerland.

In the online conference, three company members of CH Open and three company members of the OSB Alliance presented their products and services to each other in a 5-minute pitch, followed by a discussion on the future and implementation of open source. The aim of the event was to get to know each other better and to network.

The presentation by Michael Eichenberger, CEO of stepping stone Ltd, on the topic of "Open Source Cloud Services made in Switzerland" focused not only on the solutions offered but also on the values of stepping stone Ltd. Michael Eichenberger explained how the values of stepping stone Ltd can be optimally combined with the basic principles of the open source community and why we rely on open source. The OSB Alliance represents around 170 member companies of the open source industry in Germany. Together with its scientific institutions and user organisations, the OSB Alliance is committed to sustainably anchoring the central importance of open source software and open standards for a digitally sovereign society in public awareness.

CH Open is an association for the promotion of open source software and open standards in Switzerland. In addition to organising a wide range of events, CH Open, together with swissICT and the University of Bern, carries out a study on the use of open source software every three years (Open Source Study Switzerland). CH Open has around 200 individual members and around 100 collective and premium members (companies and authorities). Numerous cooperations with Swiss and foreign ICT associations, communities, universities and authorities contribute to the implementation of CH Open's concerns at all levels.
