F{AI}R 2026 in Liebefeld (Bern): Our sessions on OpenCode and LibreChat
12.10.2026 | Events | Luca Albrecht
On Thursday, the 22nd of October, we will spend the whole day at F{AI}R 2026 in Liebefeld. At the unconference for fair, transparent and sovereign AI, we are contributing to the Local.AI Day with two hands-on sessions of roughly two hours each. In the first one, Pascal Devenoge shows how to install, configure and use OpenCode in everyday work. In the second, Damjan Jovanovic introduces LibreChat and demonstrates how a transparent chat interface can find its way into real workflows without becoming a black box. Both sessions are made for trying things out, and we are curious which questions and setups the participants will bring
Because F{AI}R runs as an unconference, time slots and rooms are only set on the morning of the day. The reason is simple: participants should be able to attend as many sessions as possible, so the programme on site follows the interests of the people in the room. For us this format is exactly right, because we do not want to present slides, we want to hand over tools and work with them together
F{AI}R 2026 takes place on the 22nd and 23rd of October at WORKSPACE & MORE, Waldeggstrasse 34, a short tram ride from Bern's main station and about an hour by train from Zurich Airport. The programme is built by the community, every session appears in the public schedule right away, and attendance is free. Thursday is the Local.AI Day of the Local Model Users of Bern, with contributions from Hugging Face, bespinian, INFOMANIAK and us.
Selected sessions will be recorded and shared with the community afterwards. We are looking forward to two days where the programme comes from the people shaping it live, and to the conversations around our sessions. Anyone who has ever wanted to know how OpenCode or LibreChat feels in their own setup can try both hands-on with us and bring their questions.
