Last Friday, the 11th of May 2012 stepping stone GmbH held a conference with Managed Cloud Services as the main theme. The presentation slides (in German):

Today FOSS-Cloud 1.0.1 was published and is available for downloading.

In comparison with the FOSS-Cloud 1.0.0, the following improvements were made:

• Installer
• Singe-Node (Demo-System) was added to the Installer. Now you can test all the functionalities of the FOSS-Cloud on a single computer.
• VM-Manager
• The User and Group authentication via external LDAP directories (AD, eDir, DirX, ...) was improved.
• Improved support for Internet Explorer 9 (IE9).
• Quite a few bugs were corrected.

The FOSS-Cloud offers a redundant infrastructure for the operation of virtual servers and desktops (Linux and Windows).

Today FOSS-Cloud 1.0.0 was published and is available for downloading.

In comparison with the FOSS-Cloud 0.9.5, the following improvements were made:

• Backend
• libvirt an all dependencies have been updated .
• QEMU/KVM (including Spice) have been updated.
• Backup Script for the backup of the virtual machines via command line interface (CLI) or cronjob.
• Backup Script for the OpenLDAP Server.
• VM-Manager
• User and Group authentication via external LDAP directories (AD, eDir, DirX, ...).
• Extended Diagnostics for better support.
• Storage Pools.
• Virtual Machine Pools (collection of resources).
• Dynamic Virtual Machines (as a Proof of Concept).
• Quite a few bugs were corrected.

The current FOSS-Cloud developer version 0.9.5 will be presented at the CeBIT Hall 2, booth D58 (141) by our Partner FOSS-Group from Tuesday, the 6th of March 2012 until Saturday, the 10th of March 2012.

Compared to the FOSS-Cloud version 0.8.2 the following innovations were implemented:

• Highlight
• Complete Multi-Node support (with two VM-Nodes and two Storage-Nodes).
• Dynamic virtual machines are supported (the dynamic virtual machines are started as needed "on the fly").
• Backend
• libvirt and all dependencies have been updated.
• QEMU/KVM (including Spice) has been updated.
• VM-Manager
• All in the FOSS-Cloud used Pools (VM, Storage, Network, ...) can now be created, modified and deleted.
• Quite a few bugs were corrected.
• Installer
• Multiple Node-Types are supported as required for the Multi-Node installation.
• Quite a few bugs were corrected.
